    for the Clausewitzian political logic in particular. Contemporary ideas
    on the sociopolitical ‘liquid’ condition of Western societies
    postulate an ongoing process in which power increasingly moves away from national politics,
    with political agencies becoming increasingly prone to power-seeking
    at the expense of policymaking. The aim of this paper is thus to re-think war’s
    fundamental relationship with politics and adapt the classic Clausewitzian theory of the
    political logic of war to the contemporary political condition –
    with a special eye to the fluidity of politics6 in the contemporary world.
